Young Artist Program | Level 2

Ages 8–12

Developing artistic thinking, stronger techniques and independent creativity.

The Young Artist Program | Level 2 is designed for students aged 8–12 who are ready to move beyond foundational art learning and begin developing stronger skills, more thoughtful ideas and greater independence in their creative process.

At this stage, students learn to observe more deeply, understand structure and proportion, organise more complex compositions, explore colour relationships, and use different materials with more control and intention. They are encouraged to think not only about what they are making, but also why they are making it and how their artistic choices affect the final artwork.

Through our Think → Technique → Create → Express learning journey, students continue to build artistic confidence while developing the ability to plan, create and present more complete personal artworks.

In this program, students develop:

Think
Students learn to observe, compare and analyse visual information more carefully. They begin to understand structure, proportion, space, relationships and artistic choices.

Technique
Students strengthen their drawing, composition, colour and media skills. They develop better control of line, form, proportion, space, colour relationships, watercolour, mixed media and other creative materials.

Create
Students begin to develop their own ideas with more independence. They learn to design characters, build scenes, tell visual stories, solve creative problems and complete more developed artworks.

Express
Students learn to explain their creative choices, describe their process, present their artwork clearly, and share the ideas behind their work with confidence.

By the end of Young Artist Program | Level 2, students are able to create more complete and thoughtful artworks. They begin to move from following instructions to making artistic decisions, developing ideas, solving visual problems and expressing themselves through art.

Program Fee

$78 per lesson · 2 hours per lesson

The program fee includes:

• Professional teacher instruction and individual guidance

• Structured curriculum, lesson planning and learning resources

• All art materials required for regular lessons, including aprons, drawing paper, pencils, brushes, paints, canvases and project materials

• Use of studio tools and equipment

• Participation in Infi Art’s Annual Student Exhibition

Fees are paid by the term, following the Western Australian school term calendar.
